I am a multi-ethnic Singaporean biologist and PhD Candidate at Oregon State University, in the Department of Integrative Biology. Singapore has a fascinating history of immigration and colonization, and my heritage includes Chinese, Indian, Sri Lankan, and Thai ancestry. My maternal family is also Peranakan.
I am a field biologist by training, with research interests in social ecological systems. For my PhD, I am using network analytic tools to understand properties of animal and human-animal collectives, through a lens of disease spread and conservation. I am involved in multiple diversity inclusion initiatives at OSU, and in my free time I play a few instruments, climb, and try to travel as much as I can!
