PhD student in Integrative Biology working with Felipe Barreto.
I study mitochondrial evolution in response to climate change stressors, like high temperature, in marine copepods. I'm interested in investigating whether the local adaptation of mitochondria from different populations has an effect on the ability of these organisms to withstand increasing temperatures, as well as determining which genes are responsible for this adaptation. I'm an out, queer person in STEM, and a second-generation immigrant, and I love getting to know new people! I'm an avid ballet student and supporter of integrating science and the arts. I'm always excited to hear new ideas about how the two could be combined and used strengthen one another. I'm also a big nerd and a long time lover of tabletop/role-playing games! |
